Dr. Marshall Hirshman is one of five board certified ophthalmologists providing superior patient eye-care at The Midwest Center for Sight. He is one of the founders of the practice and is still practicing after 45 years.
Dr. Hirshman received his medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical School as well as his Bachelor of Science degree. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Hirshman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. For 22 years, Dr. Hirshman served as the Division Chief of Ophthalmology at Lutheran General Hospital. He retired from that post in 2002.
Dr. Hirshman provides routine eye exams, preventive eye-care health and treats all medical eye conditions.
Dr. Marshall Hirshman has been to all seven continents and is an avid world traveler. Both he and Dr. Jeffrey Mono worked with physicians in Ukraine organize a facility with new laser technology for more efficient eye care for their patients. He has also volunteered his time and services to the Health Reach eye clinic in Waukegan for eight years and a free clinic in Chicago.
Dr. Hirshman continues to take classes at Florida Atlantic University in his spare time. July 1st, 2015 he will be celebrating 50 years with the private practice.
